Sometimes there is problem that ur HDD get misfuntioning or have Mechanical failure not Logical. It maybe due to the fact that HDD components got loosed. So u can try this way however it is weird but it works sometime very efficiently and cost nothing.
Remove ur HDD from ur machine
put it in a sealed plastic bag
put the sealed HDD in freezer for sometime like 5 minutes then take it out
connect to ur machine and check whether it works if not try keeping it again sealed in freezer for some more time.
This mechanism is based on fact that due to cold the small fragile components of HDD contracts making its loosed components intact.
however if u think this idea is not suitable for u try spending money on recovery softwares...
